Marion Bay Progress Association is a community organisation representing and supporting the Marion Bay community.
We work to strengthen community life, protect the character of Marion Bay and advocate for the facilities, services and infrastructure our community needs.
Through local projects, partnerships and community involvement we are helping shape a sustainable and resilient future for Marion Bay.
Our Community
Marion Bay is a resilient seaside village that celebrates simple pleasures, sustainable living and the beauty of its natural setting. As the gateway to Dhilba Guuranda-Innes National Park, it is a place where locals and visitors alike enjoy year round recreation, natural landscapes and a shared commitment to caring for Country.
Our community values its coastal character, connection to the natural environment and strong sense of belonging. Through inclusive community partnerships, we are working to shape a thriving future that balances tourism, environment and lifestyle for generations to come.
Marion Bay Place Plan: Community Consultation
Help Shape Marion Bay's Future
The Draft Marion Bay Place Plan builds on the ideas, priorities and feedback provided by the Marion Bay community at the Town Activation Planning Session held at the Marion Bay Community Hall on 23 September 2025.
The session was initiated by Yorke Peninsula Council in partnership with Regional Development Australia Yorke and Mid North as part of its Town Activation Planning process. Community members were invited to share what mattered to them, identify priorities and contribute ideas for the future of Marion Bay.
Marion Bay Progress Association Incorporated has built on that community input to develop the Draft Marion Bay Place Plan. It brings those ideas together into a longer term vision for Marion Bay and identifies opportunities for our community, public spaces, recreation, visitor facilities, local economy, environment and resilience.
The Draft Place Plan has been endorsed by the Progress Management Committee for the purpose of community and stakeholder consultation.
It is still a draft.
Before the Place Plan is finalised, we want to know:
Do you broadly support its direction?
Which parts are most important to you?
Is there anything that should be changed or reconsidered?
Is there anything significant missing?
Feedback from the community and key stakeholders will be considered by the Management Committee before the final Place Plan is adopted.

Come along to hear about the Draft Place Plan, ask questions and join the discussion. Everyone is welcome.
A short, separate Special General Meeting of Progress will be held immediately afterwards to consider proposed constitutional changes. This is separate from the Place Plan consultation and the Place Plan will not be voted on at the Special General Meeting.
A free community sausage sizzle will follow.
You do not need to RSVP to attend. If you know you are coming, an RSVP will help us plan catering and seating.
